Snaptain H823H Drone Review
Snaptain H823H Drone Review 2023 – is the Snaptain H823H quadcopter worth the money? Review of features, pricing, flight duration, battery, camera and more.
The Snaptain H823H Drone is a compact drone with multiple functions, designed primarily for novice pilots. Similar to the majority of drones its’ size, it runs on rechargeable, small LiPo (Lithium Polymer) batteries, which each average roughly seven to eight minutes of flying time. This drone arrives in a standard white box, with the basic functions displayed on the outside. Along with the drone itself, the box contains the following items:
-An instruction booklet
-Three rechargeable LiPo batteries
-A remote control
-A miniature screwdriver
-Two USB Type A charging cables
-A bag of spare screws
-Four spare propellers
The Design
The Snaptain H823H has a black coating and is available in two different colors: Orange and blue. Protective guards are included with this drone, at the bottom and top of the device. This is a vital design feature, because the drone is meant for indoor use primarily, so you will avoid breaking any ornaments in your home. However, the drone can be used outdoors when the weather is nice.
This drone is particularly safe for children, but as a sensible precaution, the manufacturer advises that it should be used by no one under the age of fourteen. The drone has a headlight on its’ front, which will allow you to keep track of it if you use it on an evening.

Fortunately, the Snaptain H823H does not have to be assembled, and it has one LiPo battery already installed. Every battery in the box will need charging though, and a few AAA batteries have to be placed into the remote control. To remove the LiPo battery from the drone, the power plug should be disconnected, then the battery can be slid out of the compartment. The USB cables included are used to charge the batteries. These can be plugged into any regular USB charger or power block.
Aside from charging the batteries, the only additional maintenance required for the drone is replacing its’ propellers. The covers for the propellers make this somewhat challenging. A few small screws need to be taken off, before a new propeller can be fitted. Once the screws are taken off, using the screwdriver included, the propeller covers can be moved sufficiently to enable propeller replacement. It is hard to detach the old propellers and easy to misplace the small propeller screws, however with a bit of practice these obstacles can be overcome.

The inbuilt propeller covers on the Snaptain H823H, stop you from having to constantly replace broken propellers after crashes, like you do with many other small drones. Another excellent advantage of the covers is that they prevent small fingers from being hurt, by the device’s plastic spinning blades. The LiPo battery is located beneath the drone, and is kept in position by the power plug and a couple of brackets. The Snaptain’s LED blue headlight allows pilots to orientate themselves easily for flying.
The remote control is made from plastic and ideal for children, because it is small in size. It has well positioned buttons, similar to a small Playstation or Xbox controller. Everything is user friendly and intuitive. There is an automated functions button on the corner of the controller, however the remote has buttons on it that allow you to change the flight trim. Also, it has LED off and on switches and clickable flight sticks.
back to menu ↑The Performance
The Snaptain has additional options, such as headless mode, that enable the drone to be operated using the pilot’s position, rather than the device’s, and auto return and auto takeoff, which are extremely useful to beginner pilots. Notwithstanding, these features do not work correctly all the time. Another problem with this drone is that, prior to using it, it has to be connected to the remote control by moving the joysticks up and down, until a beep sounds. This would not be necessary so often on a better quality, more costly drone. Also, some customers say that they regularly have to adjust the drone’s trims. This is disappointing, because there are other drones within a similar price bracket that do not require such frequent adjustments.
The three LiPo batteries included take roughly three-quarters of an hour to charge, and together provide about twenty-one minutes of flying time. Generally speaking, it takes a bit of time for novice pilots to get used to the controls, but most of them can use the flip feature to perform complex maneuvers with the drone before too long. Most customers report that this small drone holds up extremely well when they crash it, primarily due to the propeller covers that protect the device’s most delicate components.
back to menu ↑What Others are Saying
Currently, the Snaptain H823H Drone is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon, based on 326 reviews. Typically, customers regard it as an excellent small drone that is fun for adults and children, and simple to maneuver. Customers tend to appreciate the device’s sleek appearance, and the fact that it has propeller guards in case they crash into a wall. Also, many customers mention the front LED headlight, which allows them to fly the drone in the evening without worrying about losing it. Better still, the battery lasts for a long time, in the opinion of most users, given the size of the device.

Final Verdict
The Snaptain H823H Drone is a good device to buy, if you are new to drones and want to learn the ropes. It is not really suitable for people who already have more advanced drones. However, for drone beginners it can be extremely helpful, because it is affordable and you can grasp all the fundamentals with this model. Furthermore, it can make a fantastic present for your kids. They will not break it, thanks to the total body protective guard, and your home ornaments are safe, providing the device is set to a low speed.
